FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Nov 09, 2007 – Traverse City, MI Parroting a relaxed, hanging-out sort of lifestyle found in the islands and snowbelt, the Snoloha brand (http://www.snoloha.com) of recreational clothing has been named one of the top ten ‘Most Slacker-Friendly’ start-up businesses in the country.
StartUp Nation, a leading business advice and social networking site for entrepreneurs (http://www.startupnation.com), has recognized Snoloha and founder Rod Call among its top ten in their first annual home-based 100 ranking of the nation’s leading home-based businesses.
The contest, which drew thousands of entries, celebrates the innovative, nimble and resourceful home-based entrepreneurs who have gone largely unrecognized until now.  Category winners span a wide range of revenue levels, sectors and other characteristics.
Snoloha entrepreneur Call fits the bill.  He founded his enterprise in February 2007 after working for ten years in the recreational clothing retail industry.
Today, his line of shirts, hoodies, and accessories cater to people who are fond of hanging out on the beach or hitting the ski slopes.  Snoloha’s motto is:  “A lifestyle shared by those who live, play, travel, vacation, relax, or simply enjoy life somewhere between the islands and the arctic.”
The Snoloha brand(http://www.snoloha.com) is currently available at a variety of boutique stores in Michigan, and will be sold by spring  at locations in Montana and Florida.
Although his brand reflects a laid back lifestyle, Rod Call is anything but.  He’s a tireless advocate who works long hours for clothing that’s an icon for a balanced life.  That passion translates to a deep work ethic, but also a penchant for kicking back and heading to the slopes when the pow is fresh and deep, or biking to a nearby beach on an idyllic Northern Michigan summer afternoon.
Rod calls this his “Margaritaville” muse.
He acknowledges the island-loving slacker icon Jimmy Buffet as one of the touch stones for his business.
“Jimmy Buffet epitomizes the whole escapism mentality and has built a global brand,” says Call.  “But behind the scenes he was worked his tail off to define this image.”
That’s something Rod Call can identify with.
