Chapel Hill, NC - The Jesse Kalisher Gallery (www.kalisher.com)
This year, the Jesse Kalisher Gallery is auctioning off a $1,300 limited edition, hand printed and hand-signed, silver gelatin print of the World Trade Center. Kalisher captured this image in July, 2001 from the Staten Island Ferry. Other prints of his are in the permanent collections of a wide range of museums across the country including the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, the San Jose Museum of Art, and the DeYoung Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. His photography has also been exhibited at Chicago’s Field Museum and fine art photography shows and galleries in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Previous auctions of Kalisher’s photography have raised $1,000 for the Fisher House ™ Foundation and this year Kalisher says he hopes to double that. “Now, more than ever,” he says, “we need to show our support for the troops and for Fisher House.”

One hundred percent of the proceeds from this auction will be donated to the charity.
“It doesn’t matter if you believe we should be fighting in Iraq or not,” Kalisher said. “So long as our troops are getting wounded in combat anywhere in the world, Fisher House plays an indispensable role in our society.”
As of this morning, bidding for the $1,300 original print stood at $950. The auction ends on December 12th at 5:00PM Eastern. Anyone interested in learning more about the auction can log onto www.kalisher.com
