Nov. 7, 2007 - PRLog -- Lat week, Sean Wright made his seventh studio album, Megalith, available on the Internet. The 12-song work is the British songwriter's seventh release in seven months. Rather than setting a fixed price for the download, Sean Wright invited fans to download the album for free. The download response has been huge, with thousands of downloads taking place everyday on Myspace, Last FM, and the Crowswing Music website..

Even without all the fanfare about the free downloads of an artist‘s entire catalogue, the release of Megalith is an event. It's new music from one of the most consistently creative rock artists. Wright has released seven albums back to back in as many months and offers all of his tracks for free as MP3 downloads.

On everything he’s done since the April 2007 landmark Tidalwave, the British singer has challenged his listeners to think about rock music in wider terms. Sometimes working with looped samples and drum machines, he has put out hooks that are light years from the typical rock clichés, like the reflective tones of "My Guitar," which begins the new album.

At the same time, Sean Wright’s music has serious levels of texture, unexpected chord changes and a sense of modernity that reflects some of society’s most challenging observations. The insightful “Don’t Move A Muscle” explores bank robbing bullies and a woman’s revenge, far removed from the macho gangster rap that has dominated for the past 10 years. The spectacular swirls of guitar decadence that drive "YouTube Lover" and its down-to-earth lyrics about human and cyberspace relationships could have been inspired by a visionary sci-fi movie.

With an artist like Sean Wright, it's not always wise to trust the first impression, as each album builds a varied sound picture and touches raw nerves lyrically. “My music runs a very wide course, with tastes and influences as broad and wide as possible. Think Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and Led Zeppelin colliding with Neil Young, Gary Jules, and David Bowie. Then add some White Stripes and the Killers and Kaiser Chiefs. I’d like to think that there's something astounding in such a mixture of styles and genres.”

Wright’s album-a-month project continues to attract a huge fan-base, including many successful music industry names.

"I'm completely blown away by your Album-A-Month project! That's amazing!!! I'm listening to some songs on the music player now... REALLY impressive! I look foward to spending more time listening and following your progress," Swapmeet Louie, guitarist and keyboard player for Bo Bice.

Top producer, Roman Klun, said of Sean Wright’s project, “all sounds and feels good.’ Klun is the award-winning record producer, music engineer and singer/songwriter who worked on Sarah McLachlan's Grammy nominated and Juno Award winning record "Afterglow."

Enigmatic producer and songwriter, Alexander Nevermind (aka La Tour and other pen names) has also spoken out about Wright's songwriting, saying: "An album a month sounds like a prolifically creative individual... love your music and your work ethic... "

The legendary American harmonica player, Jimmy Z, has said that Wright's music "sounds great." Jimmy Z has worked both live and on albums with Rod Stewart, Pink, Dr. Dre, Tom Petty, and the Eurythmics. Dave Stewart calls Jimmy 'the best harmonica player in the world.'

"Love your stuff Baby. Blaze-on!" Dana Gaynor, top US guitar player, who’s worked with John Lee Hooker, Buddy Miles and many others.

"Wow! Guess you can write!!! I am not that fast- my lyrics take me weeks but love your classic rock feel," Alana Grace, singer-songwriter with Colombia Records

"Great music. You've a wonderful voice," Betsy Hammer, American singer, songwriter and actress - who's worked with Neil Young, Adam Sandler, Christopher Walken and many others.

"KUDOS! I love what you're doing and I love how you're doing it. We will be keeping tabs on you and your progress, but I'm thinking that when the 12-months are done, you're going to be sitting on 144 of the best songs in a long long time..." Dan Nash, Just Great Management.

Asia's biggest pop icon, Najam Sheraz, calls Wright's songwriting "awesome!" Wright and Sheraz began a music collaboration in May 2007, writing new material for a future album project. They played together in July 2007 at the historical Pakistani Festival Trafalgar Square, London. The festival marked the 60th Anniversary of Independence for Pakistan, and as well being watched by a 12,000 crowd, it was aired to millions worldwide by GEO TV.
