Topshop now stocking Sarah Lu's stuffed mini-me dolls in time for the Christmas rush
youdoodolls were first seen on British television when their creator Sarah Lu stood in front of the fiery Dragons on Dragons' Den and successfully talked Deborah Meaden into investing £35,000 in the fledgling business in return for 45% of the company. That investment and Sarah Lu's hard work have since paid off with youdoodolls being revealed as the most popular novelty gift that people in the UK are searching for on the Internet in the run up to Christmas*, according to Hitwise, an Experian company.
Deborah Meaden from Dragons' Den said: "The Christmas period was always going to be a crucial time for youdoodoll, they've really captured the imagination of the nation as the most unusual and above all, fun present to buy for friends and family. There'll be a lot of people spending Christmas night with their very own youdoodoll this year!"
Hitwise's Marketing Director, Jannie Cahill said: "youdoodoll was the most searched for novelty gift in October. The positive publicity generated by Sarah Lu's successful appearance on Dragons' Den on 22 October really caught the imagination of the public, further fuelling major online interest in youdoodoll. In addition to the official website at http://www.youdoodoll.co.uk, fans of the make-your-own mini-me dolls will also be able to buy them in the high street from today as the dolls go into 24 outlets of Topshop. Each youdoodoll is priced at £19.99 (+ P/P) and can be personalised with a face of whoever you like using an iron and a transfer sheet (clothes and transfer sheet included with each youdoodoll).
