With elections for the Sunnyvale City Council being held for 3 seats, in addition to one seat being held unopposed by the incumbent, it is time for Sunnyvale voters to brush up on the candidates and their positions on issues important to residents.
Zirana, which hosts city based portals for Santa Clara county, contacted the candidates to get their views. The incumbent for Seat 6, Ron Swegles, says "I feel that because of both my service to the city in the past and all the committees I currently serve on for the city I bring more knowledge and experience to the position of City Councilmember than my opponent." His opponent is teacher and writer Dixie Carney.
Melinda Hamilton, the incumbent for Seat 7 said that "As the only woman on the council, I provide a unique point of view that complements my colleagues, one that Patrick Meyering cannot offer."
