Five Limerick County Council Offices To Be Relocated To Dooradoyle Office Complex

Dooradoyle, Limerick, 2nd November 07 - Limerick County Council has announced that five of its offices will this month be relocating to a new complex at Lissanalta House in Dooradoyle.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov 02, 2007 -
The Local Authority stated that the relocation is aimed at improving customer service by centralising Council services and making them more accessible to members of the public.

Among the offices due to relocate are three City-based services including the Limerick County Library Headquarters at 58 O'Connell Street, and the Motor Taxation Office and the Regional Waste Management Office at Lower Mallow Street.  The other offices are the Environment Laboratory in Raheen and the Mid West National Road Design Office in Mungret College.

Cathaoirleach of Limerick County Council Cllr Kevin Sheahan described the relocation as an essential part of the Council's ongoing efforts to further improve accessibility to its services.

He continued, "The operations of five Council offices are being moved to a modern building that is easily accessible to members of the public.  Ample car parking will be provided at the site of the new offices, which are located in close proximity to County Hall."

Meanwhile, four of the five offices will face temporary closure ahead of the move to Dooradoyle.

Mid West National Road Design Office will operate a limited service from 19th-21st November but will be closed on 22nd and 23rd November before reopening on 26th November.  The Motor Taxation Office and Regional Waste Management Office will be closed on the 23rd and 26th November and will reopen on 27th November.

The Library Administrative H.Q will close from 19th–30th November and will reopen on 3rd December.  The Library's Local Studies will, however, remain open at 58 O'Connell Street until further notice

Damien Brady, County Librarian, Limerick County Council explained, "The offices will be temporarily closed in order to facilitate the transfer of business, records and systems to Lissanalta House."

"We apologise for any inconvenience that may be caused as a result of this unavoidable arrangement, and would like to thanks members of the public for their patience", added Mr. Brady.
