Wunden gibt es immer wieder
The Australian music label, Hidden Shoal Recordings, today announced the release of the first single and music video from the eagerly anticipated forthcoming new album by German cinematic pop outfit, Sankt Otten.
‘Wunden gibt es immer wieder’ is a magisterial lament, an anthem for lost moments. The track kicks into life with an insistent, hypnotic beat whose empty moments are soon filled with curling strings and the heartbreakingly beautiful Fripp-esque guitar work of Oliver Klemm. ‘Wunden gibt es immer wieder’ is a slow burning, intensely orchestrated piece of maximalist minimalism. Its mesmeric looping and gently building composition work to create a contemplative, hypnotic atmosphere. This is chamber trance music.
The single is taken from the forthcoming release of the same name. The album is the second Sankt Otten release through Hidden Shoal Recordings and will be available on December 11th, 2007. The album is the follow up to the immensely successful and critically praised Wir koennen ja Freunde bleiben.

accompaniment to ‘Wunden gibt es immer wieder’. The music video was produced and directed by the brilliant German video artist Carsten Aschmann and the Hula-Offline production company. It manages to be every bit as beautiful and hypnotic as its sonic counterpart. The emotive synchronicity between sound and vision is uncanny and once you’ve viewed the video it becomes hard to separate the two.
