Online Merchants Can Increase Sales By 2000 Percent.

"The USA has approximately 300 million residents, about 20 times less than the whole world population. Popularity in Europe.

According to Detering US websites are becoming more and more popular among shoppers in Europe. "Reasons are the ongoing globalisation, the increasing Internet traffic in Europe, and the advanced Internet culture in the USA. The Obstacle.

Detering continues: "Most online stores located in the USA, are unable to create a high International sales volume like Adobe did. This is due to the fact that, in most cases, their payment options are unsuitable for non-USA residents. The online payment system in Europe differs strongly from the USA system. Most online payments in Europe are supported by specific banking network systems like the so called iDeal-system in the Netherlands or special systems for payment upon delivery. These systems are unsuitable for the USA. Other countries in Europe have similar systems. Moreover about 75 percent of Western Europeans has no credit card. In Eastern Europe the number of people without credit cards is even higher: about 95 percent. Accepting cash on USA websites would immediately solve the problem of the different online payment systems and the lack of credit cards in Europe"

The English language.

The entrepreneur added that, when foreigners of non-English-speaking countries listen to speaking USA residents, they often have the problem of fully understanding what is being said. "If the same foreigners speak English themselves, it's often a limited version of the English language and writing English is difficult for them as well. However reading English is a total different game: 85 percent of the world population has no problem whatsoever in reading English language websites. So there's no reason at all to consider English as an obstacle for selling to the rest of the world !
