Droodle, LLC., a North Carolina-based product development company announces the availability of its inaugural product, The Droodle™, at Bed, Bath & Beyond stores across the country. The retail price for The Droodle is $14.99.
The Droodle is a waterproof notepad and caddy system, designed for use in any wet environment, including the shower, pool, boat or even on the jobsite. Use it anytime you do not want to loose your thoughts or ideas to wet conditions. The Droodle mounts to almost any surface. A special coating renders the paper completely waterproof and allows the paper to be written upon with a standard lead pencil or ink pen. Water simply beads up, rolls off, and the integrity of the paper fibers remains completely intact.
“I come up with a lot of my thoughts and ideas in the shower”, explained The Droodle inventor, Drew Ludlow. “But I would always forget them once I dried off and returned to my office. I tried using a regular pad and pen, but the paper kept ripping apart in the water. I just thought there had to be a better way. Then I had that ‘a-ha!’ moment.”
Well, there is a better way. Ludlow found one of the only suppliers for waterproof paper online and then hired a firm from Morrisville, NC to assist in developing his idea. Then, he hired another company from Cary, NC to manufacture, market, brand and sell The Droodle to national retailers. “This is really a North Carolina-born product”, continued Ludlow. “Now, we have our sites set on all the big-box retailers like Target and Wal-Mart”.
“It really is a perfect idea”, commented Kreg Sheppard, CEO of 3RDi Product Development, Inc. “I meet with inventors and I review many new product ideas daily. The Droodle was one of the easiest products to get excited about because of its simplicity. I can definitely see a consumer need for The Droodle. Besides, it really works!”
