Mayor Jaraula said that President Arroyo’s granting of an executive clemency for Estrada will send a positive impact to the Filipino nation to start the process of healing.
Mayor Jaraula explained that at present, the Filipino people are still largely divided by the issue of Estrada’
The City Chief Executive added that Erap’s decision to withdraw from the filing of a motion for reconsideration to the Sandiganbayan decision is itself a great act of sacrifice and humility that the national government should consider.
Mayor Jaraula said that what the country needs at present is unity and solidarity for it to move forward in attaining peace and true progress for the Filipino people.
He pointed out that it is high time for the country’s leaders to start working together to heal the deep wounds of political divisiveness among the Filipino nation.
In line with this, Mayor Jaraula also appealed to all the candidates seeking various positions in the upcoming barangay election on Monday, to make the campaign period as an opportunity to present their visions for their respective constituents
Mayor Jaraula called on all barangay leaders to avoid mudslinging and character assassination and instead focus on the development programs that they can offer to the people once they are elected. (City Information Office)
