Early this year, American Tax Funding Servicing (""ATFS"") released its first online payoff system to the outside world. For those property tax lien certificates owned by ATFS, delinquent tax payers can easily lookup what they owe right through their internet browser. We did this because we want our delinquent tax payers to have the convenience of being able to find tax liens we own at any time without the hassle of having to call us on the phone, wait on hold, or wait to be transferred. Even though calling us is still a welcome option, we are only open until 5:30pm ET during the work week. Well, the nice thing about the Internet is that its always available!
One of our key strategies when going to the web was to make this process as simple as possible for the tax payer. We included an easy online step-by-step walk through of how to search for their property starting with selecting a U.S. State and County. From there, the user can enter property owner name, their parcel id, or street address.
If the tax payer finds their property on our web site, all the information they need is provided right there. Our web site not only lists the property of interest, but all the liens we own on that parcel including their status, whether they are paid, available for payment, resold to a third-party, or released. At this point, it’s a snap for the tax payer to get a quote on what is owed. If the tax payer simply elects to get a payoff quote, he/she will have to keep in mind that the data is at least one business day old and may not have the most up-to-date information loaded. ATFS recommends returning to our site about 10 days from sending a payment to look for any updates, or additional debt.
Depending on the tax payer's U.S. State and County, the tax payer may also elect to pay their delinquent tax online through their credit card! ATFS is proud to be the first private company in the industry to offer this convenience to tax payers. For a convenience fee, tax payers can pay their tax debt immediately through the online payment system. ATFS has partnered with ""Official Payments Corporation""
