Internet breathes new life to the small corner bookstores. It wasn't very long ago that there was a small new and used book store on just about every street corner in American cities and towns. Then came the major chain book stores, with just in time inventory systems, sophesticated marketing, combined coffee shops and discount prices. This was followed by major internet online ordering. The one - two punch was in many cases too much for the small bookstore business that was in many cases pushed by the wayside. This scenario played prominently in the Hollywood movie "You Have Mail" and many other television shows to become part of the American cultural backdrop. However, small new and used book store businesses are experiencing a resurgence. Major internet retailers, like Amazon, offer their extensive marketing networks, secure online payment systems and internet infrastructure to small used and new bookstores.
