FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
Oct 16, 2007 – RALEIGH, N.C. – Wag Pet Boutique, in partnership with three local pet-friendly organizations, is sponsoring a collection drive benefiting shelter animals as part of National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, November 4-10. Wag will join Ark Angels, Pet Foster Network and Homesitters of Raleigh and Cary to help shelter organizations, volunteers and animals.
Throughout the event, 12 Triangle-based organizations will collect pet supplies to be donated to 19 local rescue groups. The program aims to raise awareness of and support for the many individuals and grassroots organizations working to provide shelter and care for thousands of homeless dogs and cats. “In our community there are hundreds of people, usually working quietly and without support, who open their homes to so many lost pets,” say co-owners Dan Headrick and Pam Guthrie. “We think we can help by coordinating community support to ensure that these volunteers get a little help from those who would like to contribute but often don’t know how.” On Saturday, November 10, Wag will host an event to celebrate the success of the collection drive. The event also will mark the “Grand Re-opening” of the store’s expanded health and nutrition center. Throughout the day, families may speak with an animal nutrition expert and dog trainer, as well as explore pet foster opportunities and purchase Christmas portraits.
