PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 15, 2007 -
More than 50 watches made by Omega are going up for auction in Birmingham, UK.

A specialist wrist and pocket watches sale is being put on by 131 year old auctioneers Fellows & Sons: http://www.fellows.co.uk.

It’s happening on Monday 22nd October 2007, starting at 11am.

Just over ten per cent of the 472 items for sale have been made by Omega – and most are in good working order. You can see them at http://www.fellows.co.uk/Departments/Watches.asp.

Managing partner Stephen Whittaker said: “Omega watches are reliable and popular, and also hold their value well. I’m really pleased with the variety of stock we will be auctioning at this sale.”

Some of the watches for sale include:

• A lady’s gold plated manual wind Seamaster wrist watch. It has a cream dial with gold coloured baton markers and hands, and Omega Swiss 17 jewels movement. It is valued at £70 to £100.

• A gentleman’s steel-cased Speedmaster Automatic chronograph wrist watch. The silvered dial has three subsidiary dial, baton markers and the date in the 3 o’clock position. This is valued at £280 to £350

• A 1940s Omega gentleman’s steel watch head with a manual wind. The silvered dial has black Arabic numerals and outer minute track. Fellows has valued this watch at £70 to £100

The sale is happening at Fellows’ modern auction rooms in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, UK.

However, anyone across the world can listen to the auction and make live bids for the antique watches, thanks to Fellows’ heavy investment in cutting edge internet technology.
