Night at the Muzeo Visionaries Gala: Inaugural Exhibition, Imperial Rome

A Visionaries Gala was held at Orange County’s newest museum, Muzeo (http://www.muzeo.org/), in the Anaheim Colony Historic District.  Hollywood screen legend Mickey Rooney attended the Gala and the premiere of the Imperial Rome exhibition.  “The Muzeo is an exciting place for all ages,” exclaimed Mickey Rooney.  In spoof of his movie, A Night at the Museum, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle gave Mr. Rooney a key to the museum.  Gala guests were greeted by Roman Gladiators, a tour of the museum and a lovely dinner.


Muzeo’s ribbon cutting ceremony will be on October 16, 2007. “Muzeo will have compelling exhibitions and programs for the region,” said Peter Comiskey, executive director of the Muzeo.  The grand opening exhibition features Imperial Rome with over 450 antiquities on display until January 7, 2008. Muzeo will host three exciting traveling exhibitions per year.  The Muzeo concept is truly visionary, using guided audio podcasts, Wi-If access, interactive elements, interchangeable display capabilities and modern day research facilities. Muzeo is an integrated urban setting with apartment loft living and retail outlets connected by a courtyard.  The complex also encompasses Anaheim’s original Carnegie Library, built in 1908.
