Non-Resident Indians are enjoying a feast of virtual garba this Navratri. MaShakti's navratri event from Baroda is being streamed live on the Internet at http://www.mashakti.com. The response has been enthusing so far and the organisers feel that there would be an increase in the viewership over the coming days.
"The site is getting more than 2,000 hits per day mainly from the US and UK. And given that the fun has just begun, it will increase as the festival progresses", says Salil Patel - promoter of this event and owner of Gandhish Infosys (http://www.ganadhish.com).
To arrange the broadcast, high-resolution cameras have been put at the venue and the direct source is broadcasted from the venue to the servers in U.S. The media streaming servers and the technical support for broadcasting the videos on the Internet has been provided by Byte Technosys Pvt. Ltd (http://www.bytetechnosys.com)
