Oct. 12, 2007 - PRLog -- High temperature casters are designed to be capable of taking heat up to 800 degrees without malfunctioning (check individual materials for heat ranges). High temperature casters use wheel materials that are different than are used in standard casters and are normally more expensive. Materials used in making high temperature wheels are: High temperature phenolic, glass filled nylon, steel & ductile steel. All steel components are generally used on high temperature casters instead of plastics.
Tolerances on different parts of high temperature casters are looser than standard casters to compensate for heat expansion; preventing the caster from binding up. High temperature food grade grease should be used on casters going into bakery and food processing applications. Applications using high temperature casters include: bakeries, smoke houses, autoclaves, powder coating, curing ovens, etc.
