The green retailer has compiled a selection of environmentally friendly, traditional toys and games for kids, all of which are made from recycled materials and are kind to the planet.
Ecotopia’s range of children’s toys make a powerful statement due to their fair trade policy. While some, such as the cardboard range of play things are made in the UK, others provide financial and practical assistance to the communities in which they are made.
“Our eco wooden toys are manufactured from rubber wood plantations that have reached the end of their productive lives and felled and replanted,” explains Steve Jones, director of Ecotopia.co.uk. “The waste product is used in these great traditional toys, and by reusing nature’s own surplus, this range of toys and games creates jobs and financial resources to help communities around the world enrolled in the fair trade programme.”
Ecotopia.co.uk stock an enormous range of fun, education gifts such as the colourful baby elephant jigsaws and curly centipede. The chunky puzzles are made out of rubber wood and help children two years and older to learn while they play.
For older children, the minibeast skipping ropes and jungle skittles are suitable for youngsters aged five and above. Young explorers wanting more adventure will be delighted with the cardboard structures in the shapes of tee pees, rockets and forts. Inspired by the old adage that children have more fun with the packing than the present within, the cardboard play houses are made from recycled cardboard which has been tested and proven to be robust and sturdy. And, because of the child-friendly material, they can all be decorated in crayon, paint and pencil by the inspired young homeowners.
