Mona Piontkowski, EVP of SeminarInformation.com feels that though the Internet is a new medium the old rules still apply. Customers should go with the experts with the most experience - not be fooled by fly-by-night self proclaimed experts whose claim to fame is buying multiple domain names. "Experience is the most important critieria a customer should look for." The unregulated nature of the Internet allows individuals to claim expertise they may not have.
"I always look at the background of a company or individual before doing business with them. I'm skeptical when they don't state clearly on their site who they are, where they are and why I should trust them" states Piontkowski. "I've been on sites where despite my efforts I can't find out who is responsible for the site or who owns it and yet they want me to give them my credit card for my purchase."
The old rules still apply - go with the trusted, experienced company. Find someone who is committed to their business and not just in it for a quick dollar. The company that wants to be all things to all people will end up being nothing to noone.
