AstraZeneca’
The agreement has been signed against a background of the recent severe environment for clinical trials in Japan, Astra Zeneca says. It believes the deal will help it to reduce the ‘drug lag’ - the delay in new drugs being launched – in Japan, compared with the US and Europe.
Keio University School of Medicine is attempting to increase clinical trials and clinical research, and will have discussions with AstraZeneca as part of this effort under the deal.
