Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle Kicks Off 25th Season

The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle will kick off its 25th season Sunday, October 14. The 3 p.m. performance will take place at The Carolina Theatre in Durham.

Oct. 10, 2007 - PRLog -- CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Led by Lorenzo Muti, artistic director and conductor, The Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle will kick off its 25th season Sunday, October 14. The 3 p.m. performance will take place at The Carolina Theatre in Durham.

The opening concert will feature performances of Luigi Cherubini’s Concert Overture, Franz Schubert’s Symphony no. 3 in D major and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony no. 3, “Eroica.”

“The excitement surrounding the upcoming season is energizing,” says Muti, a 20-year veteran of the orchestra. “Patrons have expressed their anticipation for a great 25th season.”

Emphasizing the orchestra’s commitment to emerging musicians, special guest artists performing this year include pianist Louis Schwizgebel-Wang, flutist Mimi Stillman and clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein.

In addition to the October 14 concert, the 2007-2008 season will include performances on November 11, January 20, March 16 and May 18.
