Midwest Deemed a Leader in Fair Trade Distribution

Hope For Women Fair Trade Greeting Cards Acknowledge Midwest Region Leader in Fair Trade Distribution

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 08, 2007 -
Burlington, VT – Evan Goldsmith, President of Hope For Women, a nationally distributed Fair Trade greeting card company, announces Whole Foods Market has named Hope For Women as an approved vendor for 22 retail locations in the Midwest Region which includes stores in Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin and Canada.

Whole Foods Markets are not the only stores in the Midwest where Hope For Women greeting cards can be found.  The hand-made, Himalayan artisan cards are also sold throughout the region at a variety of bookstores, specialty food markets, craft shops, and gift boutiques.  A store locater can be found on the company’s website at http://www.hopeforwomen.com/locator/.

Evan Goldsmith, President of Hope For Women, applauds the Midwest Region of the country.  “While we are distributed nationally in 43 states, the Midwest region and Whole Foods Market have truly embraced both our Fair Trade products and socially responsible mission and we applaud people in these areas for helping set the trend of Fair Trade product distribution in the United States,” Goldsmith states.  “As our distribution grows, the more women we are able to provide with economic stability, livable wages, and hope for the future.”

Goldsmith developed Hope For Women after working with economically disadvantaged artisan women in India, and founded the company to market the women’s high quality products and provide them with stable employment.  Hope For Women currently carries four collection lines of handmade greeting cards; Garden, Valley, Mountain, and Meadow; each hand-crafted and designed by artisan women in India, using hand-pressed flowers, herbs, and grasses found in each of their particular regions of the Himalayas.

Hope For Women also recently hired a Director of Sales to foster continued distribution growth across the United States and into Canada, supporting the organization’s mission as a provider of economic stability to the women artisans employed by Hope For Women in India.

October has been designated as Fair Trade Month.
