The stellar cast lead by Pedro Telemaco, Fernando Allende and Dolores Pedro
of the film, “El Cimarron” is slated to open the Orlando Hispanic Film
Festival Thursday, October 18th 2007, in Orlando, Florida.
El Cimarron is a historical Spanish love story set in the first half of the
19th century in Puerto Rico. Uplifting and historically accurate, critics are
calling the independently produced “El Cimarron” the next “big step in the
emerging world of Puertorican cinematography.”
Fernando Allende became an instant sensation among Latin American audiences,
when he appeared as Romantic hero Efraín in “María” (1971), a film version of
Jorge Isaac's classic novel. The handsome young leading man became extremely
popular in films and television for the rest of the decade, and then moved to
Hollywood. He currently lives in Puerto Rico with his wife Maria and children.
Allende, and the film’s leading actor, Pedro Telemaco will be on hand at the
historic Plaza Theatre to walk the red carpet on October 18th, 7:30 PM, and
jump start what promises to be a central Florida landmark event, The Orlando
Hispanic Film Festival.
