Inland Valley Symphony Kicks-off New Season With Spectacular Opening Night Gala

Oct. 3, 2007 - PRLog -- Temecula, CA – Entering into its 13th year of bringing the finest in classical music to Valley residents, The Inland Valley Symphony will open its 2007-2008 season with two memorable concerts featuring tenor soloist James Callon. The orchestra’s Gala Concert and Dinner will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Callaway Vineyard & Winery beginning at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and chamber music by IVS musicians.  The dinner and concert will follow at 7:15 p.m. in the vineyard’s rustic Barrel Room.  Old Town Temecula Community Theater is the site of the symphony’s second concert on Monday, October 29, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. with a repeat of the same program.

Mr. Callon will be singing operatic selections from La Traviata, Rigoletto and L’Elisir d’Amore as well as the popular favorites “Con te partirò” (“Time to Say Goodbye”), “The Prayer,” and “You Raise Me Up.”  The Inland Valley Symphony is presenting two all-time favorites:  the Prelude to Die Meistersinger by Wagner and Symphony No. 6 in F Major, “Pastoral” by Beethoven, under the musical direction of Dr. Jeanine Trent Atwood.

Recently featured at the Elsinore Valley Arts Network's “Concerts in the Park” series, the Inland Valley Symphony is offering a total of eight season concerts and is also serving as the orchestra for the new Inland Valley Opera.  In addition, the winner(s) of the orchestra’s Young Artist Competition (concerto contest) will be presented in concert with the Inland Valley Symphony in May 2008.

The Inland Valley Symphony is led by Award-winning conductor and pianist Dr. Jeanine Trent Atwood who is entering into her eighth year with the symphony which has grown to over 50 accomplished musicians. “We have been thrilled with the continued growth of the IVS and the support we’ve received not only from the community but from classical music lovers throughout the Southland,” she says. “The opening night gala promises to be a special evening for our supporters and will ring-in our most ambitious season yet.”
