Auction participants next month will be bidding on a rare opportunity to “make tracks” to Churchill Downs, while at the same time helping fund research into a deadly childhood disease. One of the many unique items available during the 5th annual SMAsquerade charity auction event to benefit Fight SMA (http://www.fightsma.org) will be accommodations and extremely hard to find corporate box seats to the 134th running of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, which is the day before.
Fight SMA is an international nonprofit organization working to accelerate a cure for spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The SMAsquerade event is Fight SMA’s signature fundraiser. This year’s theme is “SMAsquerade:
Spinal Muscular Atrophy is the leading genetic killer of infants under two. The neuromuscular disease causes a wasting of muscles throughout the body. Children with the condition dramatically lose strength, movement and, in the worst cases, the ability to swallow and even breathe.

The Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks package includes six box seats for each of the two races next year. The box seats to the Running of the Roses are in row G of section 113. The Kentucky Oaks seats are in row K06 of section 113. Three nights of accommodations are included for the weekend, from Thursday, May 1st to Sunday, May 4th. The ladies in the winning group will enjoy a full cosmetic makeover for three, from Light Touch Day Spa, on Friday, May 2nd!
