The FotoDialer—A telephone accessory that resembles a photo album and acts like a speed dial—is establishing itself as a practical product for the disabled.
“My eighty-seven year old mother inspired me to create the FotoDialer,”
explained Son Le, inventor of the novel product. “In her advanced age it became increasingly discouraging for her to use the phone and I realized that if my mom was having trouble, millions of others out there must also be having similar problems.”
The FotoDialer increases the independence of those who are limited in telephone use due to disability or memory loss—With just the touch of one button, a telephone call may be placed to as many as 24 pre-programmed telephone numbers.
“It’s perfect for my mother because she has a failing memory and isn’t able to remember and dial phone numbers easily” said Jorge Mazal. “I am much more comfortable knowing she has emergency numbers and family members available when she needs them.”
