Don’t Get Caught in the Plus Size Frumpy Trap! Expert Advice to Dress Your Best

With fewer clothing options available, full figured young girls, or tweens, often resort to loose tee shirts and athletic shorts that make them look bigger than they are. A few smart fashion choices can slim you instantly and boost your ego.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Oct 01, 2007 – Navigating fashion choices can be bewildering, especially when you’re looking for clothes that flatter all figure types, including plus size. It’s easy to give up and resort to “boy clothes” in a size too big. Don’t do it! You can dress right for your size with just a few smart fashion guidelines.

1. Avoid baggy clothes: Don’t drown yourself in loose fabric. A slightly snugger fit keeps you from looking bigger than you are.

2. Too tight adds weight: Snug, but not too snug. Clothes that are too tight can accentuate bulges you’d rather hide. Go for clothes that hug your figure without clinging too tightly.

3. Longer is leaner: Shorter tops shorten the midriff and make your waist look thicker. Tops that hit at upper hip lengthen your appearance.

4. Choose solid colors: In general, solid colors streamline your look, whereas busy patterns do the opposite. But let your taste be the judge. If you love that flowered skirt, pair it with a solid top.

5. Wear wide waistbands: They fight bulge by holding it in without cinching it in. The result? An accentuated waist without unflattering lines.

6. Go for the A: Even slight A-lines complement more than the tapered or straight line look. This applies to skirts, shirts and pants. So show your flair with a little flare.

7. Accentuate your positives: Every girl’s body is unique and beautiful. Showcase your strong points! For almost everyone, a full skirt enhances the waist and narrows your legs.

8. Wear what you love. Fashion tips are just that. Tips. You know what you like, so wear it! Confidence flatters the most.
