FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Sep 29, 2007 – Statistics from the US Bureau of Labor show that the total number of barbershops in America is plummetting. Today there are only 9,400 barbershops in the US, down from 33,000 in 1972. That's a 71% drop. Why? The average cost for a haircut in America is $45.00, with the more expensive cuts costing $125.00. The highbrow cuts in Manhattan run up to $350.00 per cut. When calculating the average price of $45.00 per haircut for a family of just 3, getting haircuts only every 6 weeks, the cost per year is $1,080.00.

The financial situation for the vast majority of the world looks bleak. Approximately 10% of Americans can only make minimum payments on their credit cards, and 95% of Americans will have to retire financially dependent on the government, family, or charity. In fact, the average personal wealth of a 50-year-old American was less than $40,000.00 including home equity (creditcards.com).

In China it is a very similar story. Of the 1,604 people interviewed, 64% said their salary raises could not match the soaring economic development. (chinadaily.com) In England it is the same. Why? Energy and import prices create higher costs. There is also the cost of employing labour. This has been rising faster than the growth of real take home pay (blog.thestar.com).

The cost of living will continue to rise globally. In order to compensate, the average consumer will have to cut corners in order to survive. One way of doing that is to eliminate haircutting costs. You can see this in 3 ways. The first way one can see this is with the 71% drop of barbershops in America. This is also illustrated in a haircutting survey of 500 people where ony 38% respondents were in the haircutting industry, and only 25% of them wanted to learn how to cut their customers' hair. The other 75% wanted to cut their family's, friends' or their own hair. Another way that shows how people want to cut costs by cutting hair at home is that approximately 300 people search the internet every day for information on how to cut hair.

The Beginner's Guide to Cutting Hair allows people who are struggling financially, such as single parents, to have great looking hair without the added cost of a professional haircut month after month. It is an eBook that teaches beginners the necessary steps, cut-by-cut, to give basic haircuts with a scissor and comb. No prior haircutting experience is necessary to understand and follow the basic directions. There is a picture for every cut that needs to be made.

Many people struggle financially in silence. They don't want others to know about it and feel embarassed. When people need to tighten their belts to make things work, they should still be able to hold their heads up and feel good about themselves rather than being ashamed of a botched home haircut (especially if they work in a professional environment).

It would take an entire year plus the cost of $12,000.00 in college tuition to learn the closely guarded secrets in The Beginner's Guide to Cutting Hair. Plainly that option is just not feasible for the average person wanting to cut hair at home in order to save money, and try to make ends meet. Because of that, the author wrote and illustrated this eBook to make botched home haircuts a thing of the past and to allow its readers to learn the simple steps and techniques required to cut hair like a professional.
