Americana Community Bank Honors I-35W Bridge Collapse Victim

Memorial fund established for the family of Peter Hausmann

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 26, 2007 -
Americana Community Bank (ACB) announced today it has established a memorial fund to honor Peter Hausmann, a victim of the I-35W bridge collapse. Hausmann, a computer consultant with Assurity River Group, had worked with his client, ACB, during the past three years, performing technology security audits in each of the bank branches and serving as a technological consultant.

To honor Hausmann’s memory and provide financial assistance to his family, ACB has created a memorial fund in which it will match up to $1,000 in donations. Additionally, since Hausmann upheld the Rotary International’s motto of “Service above Self,” the Chanhassen Rotary will match an additional $500. To contribute, visit any Americana Community Bank branch or call 952-230-9720. Donations will be accepted until October 31, 2007.

Hausmann’s boss, Jeff Olejnik, president of Assurity River Group, described him as, “an honest and trustworthy person; good husband and proud father of four; and a man of great integrity and generosity.” Dedicating his life to serving others, Hausmann spent three years in Africa: building a church, helping with AIDS projects and teaching at a mission in Kenya. Hausmann’s eagerness to serve others was also evident during the bridge collapse when, according to newspaper articles, witnesses believe Hausmann escaped from his vehicle after it fell into the water. He then lost his life while trying to rescue others trapped in their submerged vehicles.

“With sorrow, we mourn the loss of a respected friend, Peter Hausmann,” said Al Obernolte, president of Americana Community Bank. “We hope the contributions from the memorial fund, established in honor of Peter’s life and commitment to service, will help his family. We’re proud to show our support for our neighbors here in Minnesota.”
