Charlotte, North Carolina, September 25, 2007 - BMC is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Morton as Corporate Vice President of Operations. "Michael's 20-plus years of industry experience will be a tremendous asset to our organization and managed hotels," said Joseph Smith, President of BMC. Michael has been involved in single property & corporate multi-hotel operations since 1985 working with such brands as Doubletree, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Hyatt & Marriott. He has a proven record of success as a results oriented leader, receiving many individual and brand accolades including the 1995 Food & Beverage Director of the Year from Holiday Inn Worldwide. Michael spent 10 years with BMC - initially at the property level in various operations positions and most recently as Corporate Regional Director of Operations. He rejoins the BMC team after a two year stint as Vice President of Operations for JHM Hotels, helping JHM incorporate into full service lodging, most recently opening the Charleston Marriott, overseeing the Orlando Airport Renaissance property renovation & helping the Greenville Marriott achieve the # 1 rank in Overall Guest Satisfaction within the Marriott brand. Michael received his Bachelors of Science in Industrial Management-Industrial Accounting from the University of Akron in 1985.
