To replace existing frigate ships in operation, the FFX-I naval combat system includes the mission computer functions installed in the legacy FFK combat systems. The FFX-I combat system’s automated functions include target detection, tracking, threat assessment and weapon control for efficient combat execution, allowing operation with a minimum of personnel.
The government procurement agency and design authority (DA) for the FFX-I combat system is the Agency for Defense Development (ADD). Samsung Thales was awarded the prime contract for the FFX-I system integration/
