Mailstream technology specialist Pitney Bowes has launched the Advanced Verification System (AVS), a combined hardware and software solution which, when integrated with Pitney Bowes insertion technology, can guarantee full mailpiece accuracy from printed document through to output.
The AVS works in combination with Pitney Bowes inserters and handheld scanners to provide both input and output scanning, verifying that documents have been read, processed and inserted correctly.
The AVS reconciles the input scan log with the data source from the printer. In addition, a second reconciliation between the output and input scan list is performed. As a result, the AVS provides a list of missing items as part of the job report – and, if necessary, these can be effortlessly and instantly reprinted either at the inserter location or elsewhere in-house.
Colin Forest, Mail Creation Product Manager, Pitney Bowes, comments: “For any business, ensuring that the right document gets to the right customer is of paramount importance. In today’s crowded and competitive business climate inaccurate or mis-addressed and delayed communications are unlikely to be tolerated. Indeed, in many cases, legislation now demands communication accuracy and integrity.
“The AVS solution brings the robust integrity levels usually found in very high-volume mail environments to businesses across the board. Now, users can combine the intuitive, ease of use of Pitney Bowes inserters with the fail-safe guarantee of the AVS for truly sophisticated mail processing.”
