Dover, Del. — Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will host the second annual Diamond State BBQ Championship, an event sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, on Saturday, October 20, 2007, in the infield of Dover International Speedway from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Upwards of 75 barbecue teams are expected to compete for $20,000 in cash and prizes.
The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce will host its “Big Boys Toys Show” at the Diamond State BBQ Championship, which will showcase RVs, motorcycles, autos, boats and more. There will be continuous live music and entertainment, a classic car show, island dancers, local school bands, delicious food, an Oktoberfest Village, fun crafts, games and more.
Event will be held rain or shine. Admission is $5 and children 11 and younger will be admitted free with an adult. VIP passes for $35 include two drink tickets, admission to VIP tent and buffet, and chance to meet celebrity judges. For tickets, please call VIP Services at 800-711-5882.
