Sahara India Pariwar extends financial assistance to the residents of Lucknow

Sahara India Pariwar one of India’s largest business conglomerates, as a part of its social welfare activities provided financial assistance to the families of Lucknow citizens who died in accidents

PRLog (Press Release)Sep 19, 2007 – Sahara India Pariwar, one of the largest business conglomerates of India, as a part of its social welfare activities, under its “Karmabhoomi Kartavyapurti Yojana” today provided financial assistance to the families of citizens of Lucknow who died in accidents. Under the “Karmabhoomi Kartavyapurti Yojana”, in the event of accidental death of any resident of Lucknow, his/her heir would receive Rs. 25,000/- as financial assistance.
‘Karmabhoomi Kartavyapurti Yojana’ was initiated by Shri Subrata Roy Sahara, ‘Saharasri’- the Chief Guardian of Sahara India Pariwar on the auspicious occasion of ‘Jyoti Diwas’ on 1st April, 2001. Since then after every six months Sahara provides financial relief to the grieving families.
The criterion for selection under ‘Karmabhoomi Kartavyapurti Yojana’ is:
   As per the electoral list, the deceased should be an adult under the purview of Lucknow Nagar Nigam.
   The deceased’s heir has to submit an application to the organisation accompanied by some essential documents like Postmortem Report, FIR and Death Certificate etc.
Death is an eternal truth of nature. During moments of distress, the consolation and company of near and dear ones alleviate the sorrow but financial assistance is a source of strength for the family. Sahara India Pariwar has always shared the joys and sorrows of the residents of Lucknow. Under this scheme, the facility has been provided to 46 persons till 28th November, 2006 and through this scheme Rs. 11, 50,000/- has already been provided as financial assistance.
Today, this financial assistance was provided by Shri Pushkar Verma, Area Manager Worker, Lucknow at Sahara India Zonal Office, Sahara Trade Centre, Faizabad Road, Lucknow.
At the occasion Shri Pushkar Verma said “We cannot recompense the lives that have been lost but we can fulfill our duty towards our ‘Karmabhoomi’, by extending financial assistance, to some extent. Sahara India Pariwar assures the residents of Lucknow that in their joys and sorrows Sahara India Pariwar is and will always be with them.”
Today at this noble event the details of the 15 persons who received the financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/- per person amounting to Rs. 3, 75,000 /- are as follows:
1.   Shri Raghunandan Singh, heir to Late Shanti singh, resident of Badi Jugaili, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
2.   Smt. Munni Devi, heir to Late Rakesh Kumar Mishra, resident of Jankipuram, Lucknow.
3.   Smt. Vimla Singh, heir to Late Narendra Kumar, resident of Adil Nagar, Kursi Road, Lucknow.
4.   Smt. Shashi Maurya, heir to Late Rajnish Maurya, resident of Birhana, Lucknow.
5.   Smt. Rita Shrivastava, heir to Late Krishna Gopal, resident of Indranagar, Lucknow.
6.   Smt. Manjulata Shrivastava, heir to Late Surendra Narayan, resident of Sahadatnagar Gada, Lucknow.
7.   Smt. Shyamlata, heir to Late Anant Kumar, resident of Natkheda, Alambagh, Lucknow.
8.   Smt. Kalpana Dixit, heir to Late Manoj kumar, resident of Chowk, Lucknow.
9.   Smt. Geeta, heir to Late Santosh Kumar, resident of Bakshi ka Talab, Lucknow.
10.   Smt. Shanti Shrivastava, heir to Late Gyan Prakash Shrivastava, resident of Aminabad, Lucknow.
11.   Smt. Shushila Devi, heir to Late Dilip Kumar Gupta, resident of Rahimnagar, Lucknow.
12.   Smt. Rani Devi, heir to Late Shankar Lal Rastogi, resident of Khurram Nagar, Lucknow
13.   Smt. Rani Devi, heir to Late Pratap Bahadur Yadav, resident of Malhaur ka Purva, Lucknow.
14.   Smt. Neelam Saxena, heir to Late Arun Kumar Saxena, resident of Bada Chandganj, Lucknow.
15.   Smt. Shakuntala Maurya, heir to Late Niranjan Maurya, resident of Hazratganj, Lucknow
Other major Social Welfare Programmes undertaken by Sahara India Pariwar:
Rehabilitation for Tsunami affected families: Sahara India Pariwar, the world’s largest family, is also providing permanent rehabilitation program for the families affected by the Tsunami tragedy in Tamilnadu, keeping in line with the Company’s Philosophy, Ethos, Social Commitment and Nation Building.
The program has covered 400 affected families .Sahara India Pariwar has identified 6 acres of land in consultation with the Government authorities and local community/heads for the rehabilitation. Apart from Group Insurance Sahara is building houses measuring 250 sq.ft for each family along with all the basic community facilities like a mini market, a school and a medical centre etc
A Mega Rehabilitation Project - Sahara Gram: The village Bhimasar Chakasar, Taluka Anjar, District Kutch (Gujarat) was adopted by Sahara India Pariwar for re-location, rehabilitation of the earthquake affected persons. Members of the Pariwar were there within 48 hours of the earthquake for providing relief services to the survivors; since then, we accomplished the task of rehabilitating the earthquake affected persons by reconstructing 839 houses with all basic community facilities.
Rehabilitation of Survivors of Latur - Sahara Wadi : Kilari - one of the villages affected by the earthquake that occurred in Latur district of Maharashtra was adopted by Sahara India Pariwar for re-location and rehabilitation.
Earthquake resistant houses were constructed and handed over to the residents of the village by Noble Laureate and Bharat Ratna, Reverend Mother Teresa.
Adoption of Families of Kargil Martyrs: Sahara India Pariwar has adopted more than 300 families of Kargil Martyrs and has committed itself to provide emotional and economic support to all such families by allocating Rs. 50 crore approx. under seven schemes for this purpose.
