U.S. Preferred announces its first round of City Guides, http://www.chicagopreferred.us, http://www.sanfranciscopreferred.us and http:// www.losangelespreferred.us focused on providing extensive business listings to mid-tier business markets nationwide.
Whereas many City directories include all businesses and some websites work in small niches, U.S. Preferred cites aim for mid tier businesses.
Categories such as Neon Signs, Artists and Art Galleries, Garage and Dog Training, and Bowling Centers are often buried 4 or 5 layers deep in subcategories of websites that are difficult to find. With U.S. Preferred sites selection of businesses all have front page visibility with no category more than 2 clicks off the front page.
U.S. Preferred uses a "web readable" format for its business listings. U.S. Preferred Sites are all standard HTML websites, optimized for search engines and engineered to be easy to find by people searching for local products and services. This model creates business listings that are found by standard web querying. For example to find "Ice Cream in Kankakee IL", a user has to use advanced queries in Yahoo. While typing "Kankakee Ice Cream" into Google will bring up U.S. Preferreds business listings on the 1st page.
Each week U.S. Preferred will start to fill the listings with locations of specific products that are not usually found in city guides. For example: Body Oils may be found in other directories but in U.S. Preferred so will Neroli-Blossom-
During the initial 10 site rollout period, "Featured Listings" are free to the first three businesses in each category.
