Of the Law
Susan Wingate will begin her Rambling Road Trip to promote her novel, OF THE LAW (available through Partners/West Book Distributing Co., Inc. and Amazon.com), when she sets off from Washington to California in mid-September. Susan plans to make various visits to bookstores, libraries, trade shows, and other literary-oriented organizations along the way. She begins her journey at the PNBA Trade Show in Bellevue, Washington and ends in Los Angeles, at the end of the month, where she will meet up with a Jack Nicholson-impersonator and a film producer. Sound glamorous? Maybe, but Susan believes any visions of glamour might be tempered. She's taking along with her, one dog and three cats. Susan feels the many potty stops, cloying cans of cat food, and sifting clumps of refuse out of the litter box while she cruises down Interstate Highway 5 in a twenty-one-foot motor home isn't exactly her idea of a dream vacation. Susan Wingate writes fiction, poetry, and essays. Her novels depict loss, survival and redemption in small town settings, her poems elicit the textural sensitivity of an artist, and her essays dig down to long forgotten days when life seemed simpler. Just recently, her novel OF THE LAW was published by Sixteen Cat Tails Publishing and is available through bookstores, Partners/West Book Distributing Co., Inc., and through Amazon.com. Her poem THE FISHERMAN, THE EAGLE, AND JESUS placed second in the 2006 Foster City International Writers Competition. She lives with her husband, in Washington State.
