Workplace Responsible For Up To 50% Of Reported Illnesses

Do we work to live, or do we live to work and suffer? The working environment has been responsible for up to 50% of illnesses as a result of Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD).

PRLog - Sep. 18, 2007 - According to osteopathic practice, Posture Dynamics, there are around 1.2 million workers in the UK suffering from MSD annually.

In fact occupational injuries account for a large proportion of the 350 million working days that are lost each year. The workplace is the common denominator responsible for Musculoskeletal Disorder and one of the most common conditions to occur as a result is Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI).

From disorders of the muscles, tendons and joints in the back, hands and arms to severe pain and disability - according to Posture Dynamics, the costs and misery arising from conditions such as R.S.I can be avoided with timely and appropriate osteopathic care. Health and safety in the workplace is often regulated by government bodies. Yet a majority of health and safety policies fail to incorporate osteopathic treatment for employees who suffer as a result of working conditions.

There are more than a 180 million working days lost as a result of back pain and R.S.I. Over the last ten years however, Posture Dynamics has helped thousands of employees deal effectively with a range of conditions. More and more employers are discovering that preventative exercises and remedial advice has improved productivity in the work place as well as reduced the number of sick days taken by employees per annum.

Posture Dynamics has helped a myriad of employers realize the benefits of taking priority in the health of the workforce. The secret to success for many businesses, particularly those such as Richard Branson’s Virgin group of companies, is to put their staff first, customers second and shareholders third. There is a proven correlation between the health of the workforce and the success of an enterprise and more and more employers are beginning to realize this.

Posture Dynamics has become a key resource for employers concerned with maintaining optimum standards of occupational health amongst employees. For further advice and guidance, please visit: www.posturedynamics.co.uk
