Brisbane, Australia – A new book published this week investigates the British inquiry – the Paget Report – into the 1997 deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed in a Paris car crash. In a logical point by point analysis the book uses eye-witness, documentary and other evidence – often from within the report – to prove that the conclusions drawn in virtually every chapter of the Paget report are fundamentally flawed.
Australian-based investigative writer John Morgan has spent two years of full-time research studying the events that surrounded the crash that took the lives of Diana and Dodi. He examined the Paget report when it was published 9 months ago, and was shocked at the high level of inaccuracy in the document – he was particularly stunned by the nature of the report’s conclusions. Mr Morgan found that the conclusions of the report did not fit the evidence – even the evidence that was included in the body of the report itself.
Entitled Cover-up of a Royal Murder: Hundreds of Errors in the Paget Report, this new book provides real credibility to the lingering doubts of a large section of the British and international public regarding the official version of the causes of the crash in the Alma tunnel.
The Paget report, which was published in December last year, took three years and cost almost £4 million ($US8 million) to produce. In the end, it reached the same basic conclusion as the earlier French investigation – that the Paris crash was caused by a drunk driver, Henri Paul, who was also speeding. The Paget report will form the basis for the inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, which is due to start in London on October 2.
Mr Morgan, who has dedicated the book to Princess Diana, said that he felt very strongly that the Paget report is a massive injustice to her memory.
This new factual account lays down a huge challenge to those who believe that Princess Diana’s death was just a tragic accident.
