Higher Education Which Way? - Dr YS Rajan Talk at BITS Pilani Rajasthan

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 11, 2007 – Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Principal Advisor Dr.Yagnaswami Sundara Rajan (Y.S.RAJAN) is a well recognized authority on Technology Development and Business Management. He has held several senior positions in PRL, ISRO, NNRMS, CII, TIFAC and PTU.

He has made an incredible mark in various fields like Science and Technology, Research and Development, Space Research, Business Management and has also contributed to the literary worlds. Apart from technical writing, articles and journals, he is also a distinguished poet and writer on social issues.

On Saturday 08 September 2007 at the Engineering Theatre in Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani Rajasthan, he gave an enlightening talk on Future Direction in Higher Education which was attended by faculty members and students of the Institute.

Dr Rajan was emphatic that what happened to the Indian Economy in 1991 will sooner or later is bound to happen to the Indian Education System and urged the faculty and students of the Institute to gear up to face the challenges of transforming India with innovation as the response and knowledge as the weapon.

Dr Rajan had no hesitation in declaring BITS Pilani as a model of excellent fund efficient world class institution and urged the Institute to get ready to put up more campuses in the coming times. At the end of the lecture everyone felt that the name Rajan very much rhymed with words like Mission, Vision, Passion, Innovation, Imagination and above all Education.

Dr Rajan is indeed a truly multi faceted personality and BITS Pilani is proud of having him as an Adjunct Professor.
