It provides an article per article commentary of the provisions of the two Conventions adopted in the second part of last century; the 1952 International Convention for the Unification of Certain Rules Relating to the Arrest of Sea-Going Ships and the 1999 International Convention on Arrest of Ships with reference to the travaux préparatoires. This is accompanied by an analysis of the jurisprudence of a number of States party to the 1952 Convention as well as of the manner in which such Convention has been implemented by certain States parties.
This book is the authority on Ship Arrest and is unique in its field as it is currently the only work available that discusses and compares the two conventions in depth.
