Public safety veteran to lead sales efforts across fire, police, EMS and corrections markets

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The Praetorian Group, the leading online media and technology company in the public safety market and operators of FireRescue1.com, today announced the appointment of Paul Andrews as Vice President of Sales.

Andrews, an industry veteran of seven years, will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and pursuing new business opportunities both within and outside of public safety, as well as overall management of the sales efforts for FireRescue1.com, PoliceOne.com, Corrections1.com and EMS1.com.

“Paul has demonstrated throughout his career the ability to lead successful account teams and grow business,” said Alex Ford, CEO of the Praetorian Group. “His intimate knowledge of the public safety market, experience at Firehouse.com and demonstrated expertise in online advertising will be instrumental as we enter our next phase of growth.”

Prior to joining the Praetorian Group, Andrews served for five years as Vice President of Interactive Sales for Cygnus Business Media, leading interactive sales efforts for the unit’s entire 65-Web site online division, including fire, law enforcement and EMS. During his tenure at Cygnus, he held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Firehouse.com. Andrews has also held high-level positions in sales and marketing for Real Media, a global interactive advertising network, and Verizon, where he spent 15 years managing sales and marketing efforts for the Yellow Pages division within the company’s electronic commerce group.

Andrews also served as an executive board member for the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA) and has been a featured speaker at various industry events, including the FOLIO: Show. He has been quoted in industry publications such as min, Folio and Marketing Sherpa in articles related to online sales issues such as compensation, sales structure, the monetization of web sites and email products.  He also won min Magazine’s 2006 Award for Sales Leader of the Year.
