PRLog (Press Release) –
Sep 04, 2007 – BritneysComeback.com launched on August 25th, 2007, but already the idea has caught on. In one week the website had over 60,000 unique visitors from around the globe.
The website, created by a designer known only as Kathy, goes by the catchphrase Britney Spears I Believe. The site includes images, videos, Dear Britney letters, an editorial section and a headline news section that is updated at least twice a day.
The website's most notable PR boost came from a series of negative posts published by the entertainment news site TMZ.com. The first post was titled, "Britneys Comeback Not in Site." The second, "Britney's Comeback Fires Back." The TMZ responded to an editorial that BritneysComeback.com had posted about TMZ and it's "mean spirited" posts about Britney.
The editorial section has several in-depth responses to pop culture press like PerezHilton.com and TMZ.com. Entry titles include: When the Media Turns: Perez Turns on Brit, BritneysComeback Fires Back (Response to TMZ), Britney: A Double Pop Standard and Where Have All the Britney Spears Fans Gone?
The website will be closely following Britney's upcoming VMA performance on September 9th, and will stay in effect until quote: "the fans stop visiting the site, now that people are watching I want to give them a great site." In an interview with zerogossip.com the sites' creator, Kathy, was asked, "Is her next performance, her next album make or break for her?" Kathy responded with, "No. Britney has done a lot of seemingly crazy things...and her fans still adore her. They believe that she won't produce crap..and that's really the point...thus the phrase.. Britney Spears--I believe."
