FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – The 83rd Marseille International Fair is on its way and, with it, hundreds of discoveries, encounters and animations that will make September an exciting month.
Everybody will find inspiration in the complete and varied program proposed by the 1,400 exhibitors in the Parc Chanot, an exceptional 17-hectare site, right next to the Velodrome Stadium, where the Rugby World Cup games will be played.

And to help you hold on until the opening on September 21st, here is a sneak preview of what will happen at the 2007 Marseille International Fair.

Our neighbour, the Rugby World Cup, will soon be here! In 2006, the Marseille International Fair showed its attachment to the rugby world by organising the “Rugby Village”. This year, it will host the World Cup press office and, the countries playing in Marseille will pool their services in the “Rugby Pavilion”. To celebrate this world-class event that will happen just a few steps away, entry will be free for people attending the rugby games on the 22nd and 30th.

Home design, gastronomy, travel, culture and crafts are the main traditional themes that can be explored in the 27 halls, villages, spaces and centres that make up the Fair. Visitor will discover a whole range of new products, innovative technologies and competitive services.

The Marseille International Fair, or how to go around the world in a couple of hours. Well-known for its multicultural identity, the Marseille International Fair will welcome many different countries including Cambodia, Egypt, Italy, Morocco, Algeria, Armenia, Israel, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. This year, the French Polynesia is coming back with a larger stand with fascinating crafts and traditional clothes and dishes.

And for a dynamic break, a new generation ice-rink, working without any power supplies, an adventure playground sponsored by the European Parliament and, above all, a musical experience during the colourful late opening on Friday, September 28th. These are just a few examples of the activities that will captivate everyone.

After last year’s success of the Zen Space, the concept comes back, enriched by a vast show room. Supported by the Mediterranean Fashion Institute, some 20 designers from the region will present their new prêt- à-porter and accessories collections. Between the fashion shows on the catwalk, massages and fitting sessions, the Cherie Up! Fashion & Beauty space will propose some privileged moments to unwind and dig out some original pieces.

Gastronomy will not be forgotten since delicacies from the French regions and from exotic parts of the world will tickle visitor’s taste buds. Fondues, Choucroutes, prestigious wines, French pastries but also Greek dishes, Brazilian specialities, Indian curries and Italian ice creams will whisk the visitor away on a tasting journey.

Make room for the cows! A mini Cow Parade will take over the alleys and will exposed 21 exclusive creatures that will join the herd on October 11th, for an auction sale in favour of the Fil d’Ariane, an association that takes care of children in Marseille hospitals.

For eleven days, the 83rd Marseille International Fair will open its doors and its heart to the 400,000 visitors looking for ideas and inspiration to recharge their batteries for the rest of the year.
