PRLog (Press Release) - Sep 03, 2007 -
Property buyers wishing to purchase a property at an affordable price will be most interested in what is happening in County Waterford.

A report is due to be published on the “Affordability of Housing Property in County Waterford” by Consultant Economist, Jim Power, on Friday next, 7th September at 5.30pm, in Lismore House Hotel. Lismore. Co. Waterford.

It certainly has been an eventful few months, where media headlines frequently detailed turbulence in the financial markets and property investors are now left to wonder how the autumn housing market will perform.

The dizzying growth in house prices over the last 10 years has certainly been fuelled to a large extent by first time buyers as well as investors who see property as their retirement plan.

These purchasers depend  on bank borrowings and have undoubtedly been affected by increases in interest rates; this, along with other issues such as over-supply, has resulted in a very welcome cooling of house prices, leaving demand for property to calm to more appropriate levels in recent times.

So what do Property Buyers look for now? The answer – Affordability.

Jim Power, Consultant Economist has prepared a report which details his analysis of the affordability of housing, specifically for the County Waterford area.

As a general easing in house prices and government mortgage relief incentives are taken into account, together with strong employment levels, comparatively sound wages and high standards of living, one would hope that things are once again looking up for the prospective property buyer.

As affordability of Housing throughout the high growth period may have indeed become a barrier to purchasing, we find ourselves hoping that there is now finally some good news.

The report is being published by Jim Power at the Lismore House Hotel, Lismore Co Waterford at 5.30pm.

Jim’s presentation will also deal with his opinions on the broader housing market, economic prospects & recent stock market turmoil.

This presentation will be of interest to everybody.  All are invited to attend.
