Sep 04, 2007 – He was eighteen when diagnosed with cancer and over a three year period faced his own mortaility on a number of ocassions as each treatment failed. Eventually, palliative measures were intitiated as his parents are told he would not survive and yet, within months he enters a spontaneous remission.
Eight years later his daughter is diagnosed with terminal leukaemia and after six months of intensive chemotherapy she too is sent home to die. Miraculously, she too enters a spontanoueuos remission to bewilder the medical establishment. Yet, despite her legacy of a learning disablity and hundreds of seizures daily, the amazing Donna goes on to become a prolific swimmer and represents Great Britain at the 1998 World Swimming Championships in New Zealand returning with two silver medals.
Today, he is a Macmillan cancer nurse specialist working at the same hospital that made his diagnosis all those years ago and caring for individuals with the same cancers suffered by him and his beloved daughter.
