FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Aug 30, 2007 – (Austin, TX) In July of 2006 after the Mark Houston Recovery Center (http://www.markhoustonrecovery.com) opened, it became the vision of founder Mark Houston to have a state of the art meeting room for outside events, speakers, workshops and talks.  Days ago, this vision became a reality.

The Mark Houston Drug and Alcohol Recovery Center held its first ever meeting in the new Joe Hawk Memorial Hall on August 29, 2007 when 100 people attended a cook-out and speaker meeting hosted at the new Joe Hawk Hall.

“When I looked out into the audience of 100 people, I was overcome with such a feeling of satisfaction of being able to be standing in such a beautiful room filled with people whose sole function is to end suffering in their fellow human beings,” says Mark Houston, president of the Mark Houston Recovery Center.

Beginning September 8th, The Mark Houston Recovery Center will open the doors of the Joe Hawk Memorial Hall to the recovering public of Austin for a weekly Saturday barbeque fellowship and speaker night.  The weekly schedule is as follows:

•   6:00:  Gates open
•   6:30 – 7:30: hamburger and hot dog barbeque
•   8:00 – 9:00:  Guest speaker

In addition to the meeting hall, the new building is home to an intake office, two director offices, a conference room, and a new state of the art gym where residents of the drug and alcohol recovery program work out 5 days a week as part of their addiction recovery program.

“Having the Joe Hawk Hall allows us to serve our residents, staff, and the addiction recovery community of Austin to end suffering in alcoholics and addicts,” says Mark Houston “and we feel blessed to be a part of that objective.”

About The Mark Houston Recovery Center:  The Mark Houston Recovery Center is a Texas drug and alcohol recovery center located outside of Austin that offers a 90-day program for males designed around the principles of the traditional 12 steps to recovery.  The Mark Houston Recovery Center has played an active role in addiction education by partnering with law enforcement agencies and universities with a series of downloadable materials.  These materials can be downloaded in PDF form from the Center’s website at http://www.markhoustonrecovery.com.
