Cold Tree Press is pleased to announce the publication of Jack Rabbit Moon, Dorraine Darden's lush, beautiful novel about the importance of faith, forgiveness and family.
Darden's novel is set in the magnificent Garner State Park in west Texas. Against the backdrop of a park in full summer bloom, Marnie Evans searches for the family she's always wanted. She lives with her alcoholic mother, who has taken up with a wicked, belligerent man. Despite her home life , Marnie manages to stay hopeful. When she discovers yodeling cowboy ranger Rick Carpenter and his wife, Claire, who live on site at the park, it seems like an answer to her desperate prayers for love and a place to belong.
Jack Rabbit Moon explores the nature of family and acceptance while celebrating the physical beauty of the world and the comfort it provides to those devoted to it.
Dorraine Darden, born in Munich, Germany, came back to the states at a young age and was raised on Missouri land which bordered the Mark Twain National Forest. She has worked in forestry and taught ballroom dancing. She now lives in Texas with her husband and three children.
