"The music charts on Myspace are based on music plays," Wright said, 'with the chart changing daily. My album-a-month project has captured the imagination of music listeners worldwide."
Wright believes that the internet - and especially myspace - is an effective tool in promoting new music.
"As an indie artist, myspace connects me with tens of thousands of listeners each month. I think touring is very important in sharing the live experience with fans, but if you want to get heard by folk who would probably never listen to your music, then myspace and its friend system is clearly a way forward."
Sean Wright started his album-a-month project back in April 2007. Myspace has helped him connect with not only new fans, but major figures in the music business, including South Asian pop Icon, Najam Sheraz, US producer Alexander Nevermind, harmonica legend, Jimmy Zavala, and many more.
Sheraz calls Wright's songwriting talents "awesome", while Nevermind "loves Wright's music and work ethic..." and Jimmy Zavala says Wright's music "sounds great."
"KUDOS! I love what you're doing and I love how you're doing it. We will be keeping tabs on you and your progress, but I'm thinking that when the 12-months are done, you're going to be sitting on 144 of the best songs in a long long time... " - Dan Nash, Just Good Management
