SpamWeed's refined Bayesian filter is very intelligent when it comes to tell which email is good and which is spam. As the spam filter is pre-trained, it works very effectively out-of-the-box. At the beginning, SpamWeed may make a few mistakes. If it blocks a good email, user can simply move it to "good mail box". By doing so, SpamWeed learns and improves future filtering. The refined algorithm makes the spam filter very sensitive to training and ususally after a few days' use.
Some users are interested in only receiving emails from their whitelist contacts while blocking all other emails. By turning on "Only Receive Emails from Whitelisted Senders", SpamWeed allows user to do so.
SpamWeed is a POP3 proxy that works between email server and email clients. It scans and analyzes all incoming messages, delivering only good mail to inbox while junk mail is left in SpamWeed Junk Mail folder.
