The New York Musicians Center is Reviving Music Education Within Our Communities

While parents are having no problem finding activities for their children, it is becoming difficult for them to find quality activities that are affordable.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug 06, 2007 -
Glen Cove, NY -- August 6, 2007 -- Before you invest time and money looking for the perfect local music teacher,  check with expert teaching-certified musicians at the New York Musicians Center.  Whether you are a parent, or an adult looking for quality music training, New York Musicians Center (NYMC), can not only offer you music education in the comfort of your own home, but can also do it on a budget, based on a detailed education review.

No newcomer to music education, the typical NYMC teacher has an average of 14 years of teaching experience. Whether taught in a students’ home or in one of the schools studios, NYMC has been known for their ability to work with many household incomes and even students with disabilities.  The schools’ flexibility and convenience make their program unique.

According to NYMC founder and director Talonda Thomas, "The question I get most often is, 'Why can’t I find affordable music classes from a reputable school?' My job is to find a way for all students to receive a complete and affordable education.  A complete education includes the performing arts programs.  Many schools have begun cutting music programs to save money and financing a private music education can be very costly.  Our school will continuously strive to provide a conservatory level of training to all New York students that have a passion to learn music.  The No Child Left Behind Act should extend further than primary and secondary schools.”

The New York Musicians Center, is a private music school with headquarters on Long Island.  The school has recently become known for their work in the community and their programs that allow almost any student with a passion, to become trained in musical excellence.  Along with music lessons, NYMC offers many services such as entertainment for your local events.  The school even houses Cooley-Parks Publishing which allows students to publish their creative music pieces.

Based on a sliding fee schedule, students can receive music lessons, take part in group classes and even participate in one of the centers’ ensembles such as the NYM Chorale. NYMC retains music studios throughout Albany, Buffalo, New York City, Syracuse, and Long Island.  Accessibility is a unique and important aspect of NYMC services. Students don’t typically end up on a long waiting list for a teacher, and their music services are available to families seven days a week.
